The Piech Mark Zero, a new fully electric sports coupe concept, will be making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show this week and—it’s a damn handsome-looking thing, isn’t it?
The upstart Swiss company behind it was founded by Rea Stark Rajcic and Anton Piech, son of former Volkswagen boss Ferdinand Piech.
The Mark Zero is the first venture from the brand, and has some interesting attributes.
The vehicle is fully electric, but rides on a modular platform that can accept standard internal combustion engines, or even hydrogen fuel cell power.
The concept is powered by three 201-horsepower electric motors, one at the front and two for each rear wheel. Anton Piech says 300 miles (482 km) of battery range is possible, with a fast-charge time of just under five minutes to 80-per cent capacity, thanks to new battery technology.
If you were to squint, or see it drive by, or hell, even if you stood and looked at it with a magnifying glass, you could almost mistake this car for an Aston Martin. The brand shared the design sketches but failed to show the part where its stylists stenciled over a DB9.
All jokes aside, however, Piech has said the design is purposefully classic-looking.

“We have developed a sports car that we ourselves would like to buy, and we talked for a long time to many enthusiasts about what was missing on the market,” the heir to the VW dynasty said.
“We want to offer a modern classic that isn’t subject to consumer cycles; the driver of this sports car should enjoy any minute they can spend in the car.”
On top of the beautiful sports car, the brand also plans on expanding into sedans and SUVs. Piech was founded in 2016 and employs just 200 people.
