A modern version of the classic Lancia Stratos will enter production shortly, albeit in an extremely limited run of just 25 examples.
The New Stratos, based on the one-off 2010 homage that German entrepreneur Michael Stoschek commissioned from Pininfarina, will use a shortened Ferrari F430 Scuderia platform for its chassis, meaning it’ll be driven by a 550-horsepower-plus V8.
The 2010 car was designed and engineered by a team led by Paolo Garella, whose new company Manifattura Automobili Torino will build the carbon-fibre-bodied Stratos alongside the firm’s other recent small-volume projects, which include the Glickenhaus SCG003S and Apollo IE hypercar.
The New Stratos can be ordered in road-spec, GT racer trim, or in a rally-ready Safari version. Manifattura Automobili Torino will show off several at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March.
