Volkswagen‘s Arteon will be making its North American debut at the Chicago Auto Show next February, before going on sale later in the year.
Based on the same platform as the Atlas and Golf, the Arteon is set to replace the CC. The European-spec Arteon is powered by a handful of gasoline and diesel engines, but the one most likely to come here is a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline four-cylinder delivering 276 horsepower, paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Rumour has it VW will also introduce a hotter Arteon R, with a 3.0 litre turbocharged V-6 engine making about 400 horsepower. All-wheel-drive will possibly be available as an option.
Canadian specs and availability are still unclear, but the Arteon should be available in the U.S. by mid-2018.
