Porsche reveals Panamera Sport Turismo wagon

The Porsche Panamera was widely critized for its ungainly looks, especially in profile. The current generation remedies that problem and now, for the first time, you can order a proper Panamera wagon.

Dubbed the Panamera Sport Turismo, the design from the B-pillars rearward is unique to the wagon, and the loading edge is slightly lower than the sedan. But for all its wagon-like looks, actual storage space grows just 6.5 per cent – from 14.0 cubic metres to 14.9.

Another area of slightly increased functionality is the optional three-passenger rear seat, a Panamera first. But that third, middle passenger seat is really just a slightly more padded armrest only suitable for short journeys and short humans.

Powertrain options for the Panamera Sport Turismo are identical to the sedan; highlights include the base, 330-horsepower turbocharged V6 engine, while the fastest Sport Turismo you can get is the Turbo S, powered by a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 with 550 horsepower.

We’ll bring you more details on the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo from the Geneva Motor Show next week. It will go on sale this October in Europe, followed by other markets – including North America – in November.
