That’s right, internet citizens – Dodge has announced that they are building a Challenger with more power than the already egregiously overpowered Hellcat.
It will be called the Challenger SRT Demon Demon and its sides will be emblazoned with that devilish logo. How much power will it have? Dodge is coy on the exact number, but you can expect it to be north of the 707 horsepower made by the current Hellcat’s 6.2-litre supercharged V8.
Perhaps 1,000 horsepower? It doesn’t seem impossible, given how unhinged the SRT guys are. Mercedes-AMG isn’t even in the same arena when it comes to its boosted V8s. We’ll find out for sure when the Challenger SRT Demon debuts at the New York Auto Show in April.
Dodge also released a fairly theatric video showing an animated Hellcat lining up for a drag race before it morphs into the demon. Heralded by Metallica and explosions, we can’t say Dodge doesn’t know the Hellcat buyer well.
